The Philadelphia Baptist Association will celebrate its 310th anniversary at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 6, 2017. We will gather at the St. Paul’s Baptist Church the Rev. Dr. Leslie Callahan, Pastor (10th & Wallace Sts., Philadelphia). The central focus of the meeting is our recommitment to the Baptist Principle of Association that began at our founding in 1707.
The mission focus is on Poverty Today & the PBA congregations’ response. To learn more about this we have invited Mayor Wilson Goode and Senator Vincent Hughes to serve on a panel to discuss issues related to poverty in the metropolitan area and the state of PA. We will follow with workshops where attendees will learn about the PBA church and church based non-profits responding to poverty in their midst.
During worship there will be a special ceremony of reaffirmation of the Baptist Principle of Association and communion service. The speaker for the occasion is the Rev. Dr. Loida Martell-Otero, Professor of Constructive Theology at Palmer Theological Seminary.
Please save the date, plan on attending and bring a few church members with you.
