PBA is the oldest continuous association of Baptist churches in the United States. In 2007, PBA celebrated its 300th Anniversary at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The tercentenary celebration’s theme was “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness from Generation to Generation.”
PBA remains committed to the associational principle of American Baptist Churches that supports local church autonomy while serving as one of 33 regions that support the ministries and missions of the American Baptist Churches.
PBA consists of 124 American Baptist congregations that worship and serve God together in a 5-county area in southern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Chester. With more than 60,000 members from African-American, Burmese, Cantonese, Chinese, European, Latin@, Latvian, and Liberian cultural and linguistic backgrounds, PBA remains one of the most diverse regions of ABC.
