PBA is the oldest continuing communities of Baptist congregations in the United States. In 2007, PBA celebrated its 300th Anniversary at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The tercentenary celebration’s theme was “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness from Generation to Generation.” The PBA established and remains committed to the associational principle of American Baptist Churches.
PBA consists of 124 American Baptist congregations that worship and serve God together in a 5-county area in southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Chester. With more than 60,000 members from African-American, Burmese, Cantonese, Chinese, European, Latin@, Latvian, and Liberian cultural and linguistic backgrounds, PBA remains one of the most diverse regions of ABC. We serve as one of 33 regions that support the ministries and mission of the American Baptist Churches.
